Giclee Prints - Info - Click To View

– An extra border is added which is titled & signed, ready for framing

A Giclee print is a high resolution print of the original painting.
Prints are produced with an HD printer using light fast pigment inks as opposed to dye based ink.
The High definition printer used can produce a far wider spectrum of colour and vibrancy.
Printing is on archival Fine Art, textured papers which are acid free & light fast, so no fading for over 90 years.
A border is left around the image to allow for framing.
Titled & signed on the border by Andy and arrives in a protective postal tube or flat in cardboard.
Please handle Giclee prints very carefully as the ink is almost powdery on the surface and is easily marked.

A framer will know how to put your print in a suitable frame

Unframed prints can be purchased in larger sizes and your local framer can mount for you when framing

Prints are presented in white mounts & surrounded in a simple 2.5cm thick matt black frame.
Sizes upwards of Large are normally presented in a 3.5cm thick frame.
All Andy’s work suits black as it really ‘pops’ the colours out.
Frames are all ready to hang easily, with a grip fixing on the reverse.
All are titled & signed on the mount by Andy.

Specialist lamination heat bonds the print to board & is UV light proof / archival protecting the print for at least 100 years.
Block mounting is an unusual and very contemporary style of presentation, particularly suiting Andy’s work.
Blocks have a sunken keyhole hanger on the reverse making them easy and ready to hang.

They will hang flush with your wall or can be presented free standing on a shelf for example

About the original painting

An original painting and prints of the turquoise blue water of the River Brittle, just below the famous Fairy Pools. This wee river runs through Glen Brittle on The Isle of Skye.

A mix of mediums and techniques are combined on the canvas to produce a very unique & atmospheric painting.

Mediums include oil paint, acrylic, ink, spray paint, glaze, texture medium and varnish.

Heavy texture is used in this painting, combined with glazes to create more depth and vibrancy.

The layers of glaze also help to depict the stunning Pthalo Turqu-oise water of the Hebridean river

The painting continues around the deep edges of the canvas giving a very contemporary style and can be hung unframed.

Framing can be arranged on request.
