New painting in progress and other stuff from the studio
The Cobbler, Arrochar
Started work on this big square painting of the Cobbler above the wee village of Arrochar on Scotland's West Coast
I have lost count of how many times i have repainted pretty much the whole canvas
This was because i couldn’t quite get a feel for the structure of the mountain and textures, colours i had in my mind
At this point i have a good feeling about how its progressing with all the shapes and lines giving the structure flowing fast.
Canvas is 140cm x 140cm and 3cm deep

The Storr, Isle Of Skye
Also been working on this one of The storr on Skye's Trotternish Peninsula
This canvas has also been taking a while and was started while on a roll painting late at night a few weeks ago
Repainted several times until im finally pleased with it at this stage
There’s so much structure and texture in the ancient rocks that i feel its one of the most important features to capture well
Full on mixed media on canvas
Canvas is 140cm x 140cm and 3cm deep

Wonderland - Buachaille Etive Mor, Glencoe, Rannoch Moor now completed
Very happy with the end results of this painting
Subtle Winter colours, loads of texture and definition in the mountains Created with sharp outlines and scraping paint off midden layers of colour beneath
Dusty spray paint used to create the murky snow filled Winter sky and mist emerging from between the mountains and Glen
